Please do not exit PIFile while editing an item. You should tap Ok to return to the main screen before closing the application to avoid data corruption.

No, you can use alphanumeric password with length up to 16 characters.

Tap Menu->Toggle Password to display the password.

What happens if I tap Cancel in the login dialog?

Cancel will cause PIFile to exit. Any change made previously is saved.

How do I backup data? What is PIData6.bak?

Copy the file \My Documents\PIData to the desktop PC and keep it in a safe place. It will be needed if your data is corrupted or you performed a hard reset (such as upgrading ROM).

PIData6 is the backup file generated before every save operation. It is an alternative source for restoring data.

How do I synchronize data between PIFile and Desktop PIFile?

To enable data synchronization:

1. In ActiveSync, click Tools->Options... and check the Files checkbox. In Windows Mobile Device Center, click Mobile Device Settings->Change content sync settings and check the Files checkbox.
2. Click OK/Save.
3. Wait until synchronization is completed.
4. Using desktop Windows Explorer, locate a directory under \My Documents (or Documents on Windows Vista or later) that is named as "<Device Name> My Documents" or "Documents on <Device Name>", i.e. if the device partnership is named E200, the directory is "E200 My Documents" or "Documents on E200". The PIFile data file is located in this directory.
