Desktop TimeBiller FAQ

Why doesn't Desktop TimeBiller synchronize my whole client structure?

In TimeBiller, only clients, projects, and tasks that have been used in time entries will be synchronized. This helps minimize synchronization time. However, if you wish to have the whole client structure synchronized, please follow these steps (assuming the client setup is done in Desktop TimeBiller):

In Desktop TimeBiller:

  1. In Setup Clients screen, click Export... button.
  2. Select "Export to a client structure file".
  3. Click OK.
  4. Enter a filename and click Save.
  5. Either copy the file or sychronize the file to the device.

In TimeBiller:

  1. From main screen, tap Menu->Setup->Clients....
  2. Tap Menu->Import....
  3. Select "Import a client structure file".
  4. Tap Ok to continue.
  5. Select the source file to import.
  6. Tap Yes/No to confirm whether to delete the existing client structure.
  7. The imported items are displayed.

Please note that rates are always synchronized.

Are Windows 98, Me supported?

Unfortunately, Windows 98, 98 SE, and ME are not supported.

How do I synchronize existing TimeBiller data?

You must run TimeBiller 3.0 on the device first before installing Desktop TimBiller 3.0. After you installed Desktop TimeBiller and ActiveSync provider for the first time, please remove your device from the dock. Once disconnected, dock your device to begin synchronization. ActiveSync will automatically enable the provider to synchronize TimeBiller data. Depending on the volume of data, it may take a few minutes to complete synchronization.

Can I restore backup file created on the device in Desktop TimeBiller?

Starting from TimeBiller version 2.8.544.1 and Desktop TimeBiller version 2.8.197.4, backup files created on either platform can be used for restore interchangeably.
